The waffle is now (finally) fully glued and ready to receive a series of skins + infills. Here’s an approximate breakdown of the time taken so far…:
Drawing and Scripting – 42 hours
Laser cutting pieces – 8-9 hours
Assembly/wiggling till it clicks into place – 10 hours
Glueing each intersection – 6 hours
Standing back to look at it whilst having a beer – 0.25 hours
It is taking much longer than I initially wanted it to, but I’m learning more about the structure with each problem… And hopefully by the end of the week I will have something which is ready for testing acoustic performance! (along with a representational model and further drawings/writings about the larger architectural scheme… Lots to do… Keep your eyes peeled!
