The Egg Hunt 2012 is a London based event which ‘egg’xhibits over 200 large eggs designed by artists, architects and designers. I worked with the in-house model makers at Wilkinson Eyre Architects to design and fabricate the egg as pictured. The egg was on display in the Canary Wharf area of London for the duration of the egg hunt and was auctioned for £5100 at the end of the event. I used Grasshopper and Rhino to produce a bespoke algorithm which generated the ‘cracked’ egg geometry and prepared the pieces for digital fabrication. I also developed an Arduino based lighting system which responds to the proximity of the viewer. a 3D drawing of the egg is currently on display in the architecture section at the Royal Academy Summer Show (2013)
