PACE YOURSELF

And for those who don’t know what ‘milling’ is, take a look at this nifty video of the machine in action. It is going quite fast at this stage as I am milling (or routing) the finished surface with a 3mm ball nose drill bit. I think the model had moved slightly on the vacuum bed – owing to the porous nature of MDF when it gets so thin – so it was taking a lot of material off on one side and hardly anything on the other… I learnt many useful tricks whilst milling this model! Hopefully the next bunch will only take half the time now that I know what I am doing…
