Chroma Zone at Heni Gallery

My work "Chroma Zone" has been selected by Peter Cook to form part of his excellent exhibition "Art of Architecture" at Heni Gallery this March!! I will also be giving a little talk about this work, at the closing party on MARCH 24th 2026.
On seeing Peter's new works in the exhibition, and his call for digital responses, I was prompted to make a little audiovisual sketch of my own, which I call Chroma Zone. The musical part is a smish smash of drum beats, field recordings and tasty harmonies that makes a vibrant and sort of dance-ish, fidgety collage.
I have been learning to roller skate, recently, so I imagined the music as a soundtrack to careering through some of the bright colourful and hyperactive spaces conjured in Peter’s drawings. The visual part features more as a digital fever dream, which, as I’ll demonstrate in a moment, is an audio reactive weather system that hallucinates rainbows by condensing when it gets excited by sub-bass frequencies and dissonant clusters. It also gets tired or bored, when the music thins out.
